Straightforward Discretisation of Green Function and Free-surface Potential Flow around a Three-dimensional Lifting Body

چکیده
A straightforward evaluation approach of free-surface Green function is developed to solve the potential flow around a three-dimensional lifting body. The free-surface waves generated by the movement of the lifting body is presented in an expansion of plane regular waves traveling in θ directions with wave number magnitudes k > 0. A boundary element method is combined with the evaluation approach and Hess-Smith panel integral formulae to predict hydrodynamic performance of a three-dimensional lifting body. Numerical results produced by the proposed method are compared favourably with experimental measurements.

BOUNDARY ELEMENT METHOD APPLIED TO THE LIFTING BODIES NEAR THE FREE SURFACE
In this study, the boundary element method is formulated to evaluate hydrodynamic characteristics of bodies including free surface effect. The method is based on two equations, the perturbation potential boundary integral and the pressure Kutta condition, which are solved simultaneously. The method uses isoparametric elements for both quantity and geometric on the boundary. The method is first ...

In this paper, the analysis of two dimensional viscous incompressible flow around bodies with multiple industrial applications, is presented. Both of boundary layer flow and potential flow have been analysed repeatedly and in this way, the major parameters of flow are calculated. Laminar and turbulent boundary layer flow are solved with the aid of an virtual flow normal to the surface of the bo...

This paper discusses the disturbance velocity and potential as well as the total velocity formulation for non lifting potential flow problem. The problem is derived based on the Cauchy method formulation. The adding and subtracting back technique is used to desingularize the integral equations. The desingularized boundary integral equations are then discretized. The discretized equations can be...

Nowadays, various numerical methods are developed to extend computational fluid dynamics in engineering applications. One of the most useful methods in free surface modeling is Boundary Element Method (BEM). BEM is used to model inviscid fluid flow such as flow around ships. BEM solutions employ surface mesh at all of the boundaries. In order to model the linear free surface, BEM can be modifie...
